Rode homestake pass South with the midge.

Both of us left our rain jackets at home so of course it hail / rained for 40 minutes right when we made it to the top of the climb, with thunder approximately two seconds after lightning.

Neither of us died.

We ran into this track just before the summit... I would assume a ̶b̶e̶a̶r̶, coyote or snuffleupagus

thankfully we shuttled a car because I wanted to do the toll canyon downhill too so we just pulled the plug.

'Almost" too cold for midges recovery beverage...

Not trying to be a naysayer but that don't look like any bear track I've ever seen.
You're right, the toes aren't in line (was rushing to avoid rain and didn't look closely)

It was big enough that I'd say bigger dog but it crossed and left trail, we didn't see anyone besides two bikers and that was only track.

So maybe coyote, as feline family doesn't show their claws...

Went for a solo shuttle trip today to the dh flow trail. I rarely go and when I do I usually pedal up but I wanted to do a few runs quickly. These little k cars from Japan are very popular in my country (they have to be converted to left hand driving i.e. steering on the left side). This one was my dad's (he passed away a few years ago) and it is a nice vehicle for shuttling.

New friend.

Halo-halo ("mix-mix") dessert made out of shaved/crushed ice, evaporated milk, and fresh fruits. Mine had banana, mango, papaya, avocado, watermelon, apple and one other fruit. Sprinkle of cornflakes on top. For five pesos more you could add a scoop of ice cream.

How do you solo shuttle?
Sorry, was not clear as English is not my first language. I meant I drove to the track, parked somewhere near the middle then pushed my bike up to the starting area.

Edit: those that do several top to bottom runs have their bikes towed by motorcycles if they don't have cars. The drivers generally make their living by carrying people, usually several at a time, up and down the mountains especially in places where four-wheeled public utility vehicles don't frequently go (google "Philippines habal habal" if you're interested). I've tried it but I also worry that I might fall and get dragged.

When I self-shuttle bigger rides, I bring my "road" bike, leave it with the tent at the take out, do the big ride, and "shuttle" back to the car on day 2.

Since I'm the only resident of Island Park Idaho without an ATV/Snowmachine I'm debating picking up a small ATV & trailer (or motorcycle) so I can do longer self-shuttles using dinosaur piss instead...

Looks more like a big ol puppy to me. Could be a coyote but if it was big I'd guess dog.

It might not be a bear, but if it is, I hope Montana Rider is careful...the destructive power of even a moderately sized black bear is serious business. Apparently this asshole tore down a bunch of trees and dug out the road so he could sleep in the stormwater pipe. Pretty disrespectful IMO
