Thursday was going to my long slow ride but the weather forecast says 25MPH winds. Today 8MPH winds and scattered showers. I chose wet over wind. 20 miles easy effort and a little under 700 feet of gain. 10.2 moving speed on the hard tail. Last 8 miles in steady rain so now the bike is clean.

Pissing rain all freakin day, so All-Country bikes won't be a thing for a minute, so here's a video of a tired bumble bee I gifted some agave to. Didn't take long for the diabetus juice to work its magic and send him/her on their way.

If it had of been a murder hornet on the other hand, its WD40 and lighter time.

Another long slow base mile ride. 29 miles, 10.5 average speed, 119 average heart rate. Another 10 days to go but I might let loose Friday to see if the last 3 weeks made any difference.

There has been a lot of rain in central Montana, first time I have ever seen all the gates open.

great ride with my oldest son yesterday. it was our first "real" ride together (i.e. on trails that I would normally ride). He rocked it. I'm contemplating new tires, new shoes, and possibly a suspension fork for him now... :brows:

I was surprised. Parking lot at scraggy and the CoMBA lot were weekend full, but I only saw maybe 10 people all day on the trails all day.
Good to know, might head there on Friday and ride the big loop. We'd normally park at the Buff Creek lot and start by climbing Nice Kitty...

My skin now matches the red shirt I wore today. Holy shit, note to self slather the sun lotion on next time..

Awesome day though. Dork logger says 3300 feet of descent today, which for this area of Onterrible is pretty decent, I guess.

Wheres that at?
The Pines just outside of Woodstock.
Built on leased land from the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority. It was a dirt-roadie paradise for years, but it got logged earlier this spring. So the current trail builders decided to change things up. They are placing hubs at the high-points each with several downhill trails, all linked up with transfers and return climbing routes. The trails are all super short, basically like sessioning a section of normal trail. Trying to eek out the most fun and progression with the maybe 75 feet of elevation.

First ride since March 15th; yes! It was great to be on the trails again. I got a bit lost in @Da Peach 's front yard to start, but eventually found my way to familiar territory.
