I tried tuning my rear dur. and it was more work for no gain. I was having a problem with it skipping a grear. I would shift and nothing would happen i would have to down shift twice and up shift once to get to the gear i needed. I tried adjusting it and it went from not really workin at all back to where its at. Its very rideable but i would like to fix the problem. Any help would be apprecited. Thanks:monkey:

it sounds like the cable is getting hung up, and not allowing the der. to move freely.
undo the pinch bolt at the der.; grab hold of the cable with your hand (you may have to remove it totaly from the der.) while holding the cable back actuate the shifter and notice how smooth or sluggish the cable feels; specially on the return. DONT pull too hard you are trying to imitate the der.
if it is real sluggish on the return the housing and is dirty and shot, if you have a galvanized cable then it too has to go.
use 4mm housing and a nice stainless steel cable lubed with joni-
snot. (not too much though).

Thats very possible. I noticed when i was working on my bike where the dur cable comes to the top tube i saw a couple small wires coming from the housing. I will get a new dur cable this week and try my hand at recabling the dur and see if i can get it to work. Thanks for the help.
