I had to wiki it, "The Master Cleanse involves eating no solid food. Instead, you drink a mixture of lemon juice, Grade B/Medium maple syrup, water and Cayenne pepper."

Interesting. I think I'll consider the colonic irrigation instead. That said, I leave you with a zipper on skin tatt.

A friend of mine did the lemonade diet. I met him on the tail end of the fast and he seemed no worse for wear.

I think it's silly..people cleanse then go back to their old eating habits and have to cleanse again...it's just a vicious circle..D

This is like any other diet or other fad.

If these things really worked, why would there EVER be a "new" one. If they actually came up with a diet that worked, why would someone have to create a new one.

Same with the other things.

Give it a year. If doctors recommend it, then do it. I bet in a year that nobody is talking about it.

And if you think doctors aren't recommending it because it cuts into their business, then take off the tin foil hat and go outside to get some sunshine.

:stupid: Pure quackery, but if you want to damage yourself, go ahead.

I have a friend that has done it for years. I'm not interested, but it seems to promote health in some. Doctors will never vouch for it because they don't get any perks from the lemonade or pepper industries.

edit - it doesn't cut into their business, it cuts into their lunch.

What are other options for cleaning yourself out? I'm just starting to look into this. I have a doctor appointment with my primary physician in like six weeks but is there a specialist I can see without going to my doc. I haven't been to the doc in 2 years so they were only able to get me in 6 weeks from now. I'm all backed up, I need a blow through or suck out or something.

People have been doing it for quite a long time. It's just making a major comeback due to Hollywood. There was a recent book written about it, but the last book written was 30 years ago.

And everyone I've talked to has good things to say about it.

And Josh... Nah. I don't drink, smoke, never done a drug, etc. But I eat terribly. I really try to keep the carbs low, protein high, and eat lots of fruit and veggies, but the majority of my diet consists of carbs, candy, and sugars.

Just considering doing this, but I won't think I'd be able to ride during that time. I'd be completely out of energy constantly.

I've done it. It's not as hard as it sounds. Some say to do it for 10 days. I think the wife and I did it for 5. But we also did not eat any solids for several days before and after those 5 days. I does wake you up to how LITTLE you need to function. If you find that you can work/school by only drinking a lemonade concoction, you probably don't need fries with that already nasty burger. See what I'm saying?
