Somehow I see him going the way of Timothy Dalton or George Lazenby.
I didn't like Dalton, or Lazenby but I wouldn't put them in the same boat. Dalton at least had 2 movies. Whoever casted Lazenby needs to get sacked. Her Majesty's secret service was the worst bond movie ever. I think they need better writers more than they need a new leading man. However, they do need to find somebody who has as much class as Connery and Moore.

Bah. Moore had NO class, at least he doesn't in my eyes.

Brosnan had phenominal charisma, and was, in my opinion, second only to Connery as playing the best representation of Bond. His problem was the crappy scripts he was forced to do.

Frankly, if they had kept with the Goldeneye formula (a turncoat 00 agent was a great plot device and the whole movie was very dark and brooding) they would have been much better off. Stop trying to make Bond "human", like they did in "Die Another Day".

Tom Cruise would make a great Bond. Mission Impossible was the bomb.

What about the dude from the Transporter movies, Statham?

How about a black Bond? Jamie Foxx has shown some serious diversity as an actor.

Tom Cruise or Jamie Foxx???????? Are you kidding? I'd rather see Lazenby brought back before either of those even got to look at a script!

What are you talking about? Cruise would rule!

I think the dead-pan, straight-laced Keanu Reeves would actually be the best choice.

The Bond franchise is in dire need of a makeover. Hiring Daniel Craig can be a step in the right direction, as long as the story is good. Bond movies as of late, feature gadgets first, story second.

A lot of it has to do with those that own the rights to Bond, and the decisions they make. Tarantino wanted to do Casino Royale at one point. Had Tarantino been given the chance to direct, he could have made the movie cheaper, and might have breathed new life into the franchise.

As of now Bond with Craig has a chance. It takes place earlier in Bond's life; Moneypenny and Q aren't in the film, so expect a less gadget driven story.

Up sh*t creek, without a paddle
Two things....

1.) The new Bond guy needs a new picture on IMDB....
2.) Road to Perdition was awesome....I don't remember his character though...I'll have to NetFlix it again....

O.K., I lied....

3.) Casino Royale better kick ass!!! I luv Bond movies and it's been soooo painful lately...I can't believe they've disgraced Fleming this much already....sigh....

Here's to Bond being great once more!!! *swigs a beer*

Whoever plays Bond should probably be from the British Isles... No offence but not many American actors can do the accent.

I personally liked Dalton, Connery and Brosnan. Dalton's movies were the darkest (Licensce to Kill) and I preferred that style of Bond movie. I liked Goldeneye and I liked the start of the last one before it went all ice palace.

Hopefully Casino Royale will do for Bond what Christian Bale did for Batman.

I want to see a masogenistic hardman getting the job done with brains, stylish killing and blowing things up, not ghey gadgets.

Actually, from what I read, the director is the same one that did Million Dollar Baby, and it is supposed to be in similar fashion to "Batman Begins" in the Batman series.

Should be a very good film if that's true.
