Weigh stations already exist for commercial transport vehicles above a certain weight. I'm not sure what the weight limit is but I do know most mexi-vans don't meet the criteria.
So? This is nothing new, really. It's always been known that intermodel transport is a bigger threat for terrorist attack than flying airplanes into buildings. Any commercial vehicles that go through weigh stations are being scanned for radiation now. I think it's a good idea, use the network that already exists to help keep an eye out.
Why would our constitution have anything about internal checkpoints in it? Are you referring to illegal search and seizure?
They want to expand and be part of already active checkpoints/weigh stations, be my guest.
Now the first time I see a check point that is JUST TSA... well, in the words of the more senior crowd, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I got the brake and the gas pedal mixed up..."
Haha, I remember seeing that camel a few times....I don't know where he's from, but maybe he wouldn't look so smug if he knew ICE was keeping an eye on him.
