do you guys HAVE to buy one? (BMXman and VV)
well I have been wanting one ever since I had the Nucleon. The only reason I sold the Nucleon was because of weight. I really like the system but even at team prices I can't justify the cost of the newest G-Boxx bikes from Nicolai. Maybe I'll get a Helius ST w/ a 1.5 heatude :thumb:...D

actually that price isnt far off what us europeans would have pay for a brooklyn link bike sold in europe..

in sweden the price is 50k SEK for a bmw link race frame-kit, thats something like €5500

i think the price is a lot less than that. Well that's what Nicolai keep telling me. They say it's around £3000. the TFR (trail bike style thing) is £2990 over in Germany. The TST is said to cost about the same. Probably cost you a bit more over in Canada/US.

A lot of the extra cost will be from the massive billets they machine the G-Boxx shell from...

Less than a Race Link over here then.

Damn, you could buy a monkey to shift for you at that price.
Hell, you could hire a team of midgets to pedal, steer AND shift for you, and all you'd have to do is sit on the bike and drink beer.

It's a cool idea, but an absolutely ludicrous price. I'm suprised that they're even bringing it to the market at that cost. Ahh well. I'd still like to ride one :D

3,000.00 GBP = 4,403.33 EUR

quite different from the previously mentioned 5600 EUR

i wonder which is correct

Also keep in mind that they may adjust the price to complete in the US market.

But then again maybe they'll be happy only selling 2 or 3 over here...

Nicolai-UK are telling me £2990, well €4400...

Not a lot of money over in the UK for what you get really. Some high end US frames aren't much less and they don't have the drivetrain, hub, cranks and all the advantages of the G-Boxx included!

I guess time will tell but i really can't see it being £3800...

well I think you have to take into consideration the weakness of the dollar right now. That plays an important part in the whole pricing game. As well as the US distributor making something off the frames...D

Holy crap! $6500!
I understand R&D is expensive, but how quickly are you going to pay if off when you can only sell to the uber-rich (who won't know about the bike anyway) and bike geeks who will put their personal financial wellbeing in peril to hang one in their living room? (not that there's anything WRONG with that ;) )

Seriously, the cost of manufacture can’t be THAT much more than a Nucleon ST (about $3200-3500 right?) so it’s trying to recoupe development monies spent?

I’m just bitter cuz I thought I’d own one. :mumble:

dont complain about prices, in europe we pay much more in general, nicolai is an exception so let us enjoy one brand with better prices ;)
Intense, SC, Foes, BMW, Turner etc.... are all 85% more expensive in Europe

Wow, that sucks. If I lived in Cali I'd let you borrow your UFO. How long have you been waiting for the frame?
It was sent in at the beginning of Feb. I borrowed a friend's Supergo ht frame for a while until my bmxtb came back, but that's not without it's issues now, too. Regardless, I've always had something to ride, so it hasn't been that big a deal. Funny thing, though, is that a little while back Danny emailed me just for an update, and at the time I had completely forgotten that I was even waiting for the frame.

They should get you a TFR to make up for all those months of waiting.
