F1 Rules apply in most situations. Local Laws are too arbitrary to be applicable. If you take the inside corner. Just own it. Don't be a pussy...

Pretty sure I only get mail delivered about 2 days a week. Any tracked package usually is "out for delivery" for at least two days.

Out for delivery means it is in the hallway around here. Not for any other reason than they have no idea where your parcel is at any point during shipment.

I train this guy, he is 28. His second day on the job he is assigned to a car to drive old people from their homes to a doctors office and back. He quits mid shift. His reason. It's too stressful and he is having a panic attack

he is gonna end up living in his mothers basement

I am calling out Shimanos planned obsolescent scheme. They closely observe patent restrictions to ward off aftermarket parts from being available.

I am related by marriage to somebody who quite their pizza delivery job for the same reason. He is now in his mid-thirties, and lives with Mom and Dad.

I have quite a few friends who work in Fire/Emergency Response, and they've all got some stories to tell about the younger generation ...

Probably just was trying to be polite and didn't want to explain that he couldn't stand his coworkers.

Seems like a reasonable place to drop this:

I quit a dishwashing job at my college cafeteria when I was 19 and got that lecture. I had gotten a better paying job that didn't suck as much but wasn't going to waste my breath explaining myself to the 50 Y/O dipshit whose life accomplishment was becoming head dishwasher.

Yeah but this job ain't hard. you get a company car, company fuel card, company cell phone, health insurance, $20/hr to start and you might take 8 - 10 passengers a day 10-15 minutes to a doctors appointment or to home. all you have to do is drive the damn car and open the car door for them. for paperwork you log what time you picked them up and when you dropped them off, that's it

I'll pay it if it fixes this BS.
Might not be a fix. Might just be a monitoring thing.

Back in January I had some distortion and echoes, particularly certain frequencies. The doc said some of this was psychological because I have different frequency loss in each ear, so the brain glitches as it tries to reconcile the sound difference.

:banghead:

We're super-duper high tech and use simple keepass files for our 5 or so buildings, for common passwords and whatnot. Apparently, someone took initiative to merge them together. Which is great. Initiative is great.

BUT, they didn't tell everyone or remove/archive the now obsolete key files. So half of us have been updating the old files, the other half has been updating the new one and for some reason, one building has 3 copies of the same file in 3 different locations - all of which have been modified recently.

I audibly sighed into the microphone on a call when they were explaining what they tried to do.

Man.... I'm glad I'm not the one that has to fix that, that is going to be some tedious work.

Tinnitus is the gift that just won't shut the fuck up.
Developed it after the head whacks. Woke up one day months after the last concussion and that was the last time I experienced silence That was almost 10 years ago. Covid seemed to screw me over even more. It got louder 2 days after testing positive. That was almost two weeks ago. Covid is gone, but the extra volume has stayed. Standing in the shower with the water beating on me melon is the only relief. Specialist apt next month.

Le sigh.

Apparently Netflix doesn't clear out your payment info when you cancel a subscription.

And when you cancel a subscription, you can no longer login and check your profile items, without first adding a subscription back.

Fack right off with that horseshit.

This shit again... signed up for Prime trial and got some free shipping. Canceled the membership the next day, after the items shipped (have to go through 3 pages of confirmations to actually cancel).

Today I got billed again for it. Ughhhh.

This person at least didn't really question it and within seconds said I'll get a refund. But really? I wonder how many other people just never notice.
