i knocked in pretty strongly, but it won't move at all( i will try again later

looks like previous owner didn't care about bike at all. the screw that i unscrewed looked pretty rusty. not really worn-out, but it was obvious that the suspension isn't the thing, the owner took care about
Another suggestion, spray liberal amounts of WD-40 or any penetrating lube (assuming you'll also be replacing the bearings since pen lube can damage them). Let them sit for a while, then continue tapping away.

Has anyone got a picture or a description how to install shims in DHX 5.0 in Iron Horse Sunday?
If not could you tell me whether this setting is proper:

If it is important, the shock is in the Push version.
Thanks for your answer.

If anyone needs 05/06 links let me know I have 2 or 3 sets of them in a bag that I'll recycle for scrap aluminum or send out to someone....

I'll have to check but I think I have the red lower link as well pre 07.
If you have one of the lower link bearing caps(p/n 7 in the schematic above) I will take it off ya.

i recently purchased BETD lower link, it doesn't fit my friends '08 sunday. Do we need to purchase the the bolts / axle to works with the link? the BETD link doesn't have groove / screw pitch for front triangle bearing retainer..

Does anyone have the same scenario?

ATO, the BETD lower link has 2 version, the 06 and the 07 above.

if the link that connects to the front triangle has screw thread, use the 07 hardware (hex bearing retainer)

if the link has no threads it's for an 06 the bearing retainer of the 06 and below models is simply pressed into the frame.

most likely you purchased the 06.

check out the photo of 05 06 lower links of bull crew you can see the bearing retainer has no threads.

cheers!

any news to the works component headset! waiting here hehehe.

Hey guys,

Just got my sunday painted. Can anyone point me in the direction of a sticker file that I can give to a graphics place to print out?

Thanks.

Yeah, he posted pics on pb and it states that it took 10 hours of shaving and turning the dw-link backwards to get it to work. Better to just use the xfusion HLR air.

xfusion air is not easy to install either, but 10 hours of shaving, is he using a nail file?? maybe he needs to get a die grinder...

Ok so I've found a pretty good deal on a new rc4. 2011, its off a brand new adrenaline agent, does anyone know if when the shock is stocked on a particular bike they come with a specific tune? If so what would the tune for the adrenaline be compared to the Sunday? Any info will be great, cheers guys

OK the red lower link complete and upper link complete are gone I still have 2 lower links blue and 2 upper links they are all almost complete as well as some mksc hardware for the links.
Pm me is easiest if you need something, I work so I ship in evening and or before work as long as you pay for shipping I will give the parts away.
Flat rate priority small box will handle a lower link and a upper link setup.

I would rather see someone on here get them for their setup they came off of 4 frames and parts I aquired. I'm cleaning garage so they are on the bench for a little longer before the recycle pile.

Both of these pictures are about a year old now but you get the picture. Since replaced the old linkage with the R7 style. Frame is an 08, Boxxer RC, CC Double Barrel, and random assortment of parts along with a MTX wheelset I build up for it.

Hi all, i am thinking about buying a Sunday and i have a few questions:

Is this bike competitive nowadays? I mean, it's not too old fashioned, is it?
Is there any problem with cutting the stock linkage to fit the RC4?
Any problem riding it at 63.5º HA?
If i get a Vivid R2C, will it fit the stock linkage? Should it be the Tune High?

Thanks!!

You should start by reading through this thread.
1. The Sunday geometry was definitely ahead of its time. With an angled headset they can be very similar to modern bikes.
2. No, many people have done that. Ive never tried one, but many people (including dw himself) have said that the RC4 is the ideal shock for this frame.
3. No, thats a pretty common HA here. Thats what mine is right now.
4. It depends what year sunday you get, the 08s and 09s should fit since they came stock with them. The tune will depend on your weight and preferred suspension feel. Im 165lbs and a mid tune was way overdamped for me.

2006 frame pickling, size s or m not remember. with direction and Fox DHX 5 air. With the axle gave me 4.78

Has anyone tried to reduce the shock camera to get the end of the trail more progressive?
which settings are best for 70 kg

thanks

The DHX Air is quite a progressive shock so you really don't need to increase progression further. If anything you'll probably want to set it up fairly linearly - back when I ran one I used about 125psi in the boost valve, with the bottom out fully open. If you need more progression just add more bottom out turns.

Spring pressure is rider weight dependent, just set it so you get 33% sag (easy to measure on the air shock, but unfortunately you need to remove the shock to change spring pressure). 140psi is probably a good starting point, but honestly I forget my setup now.

It depends on your fork, but with a low fork height it will be around 13.5-13.6".

It is useful to have some height adjustment range in the fork. I preferred my BB around 13.8", I found it faster through rough / rutted sections - depends what sort of terrain you ride.

I'll try these settings

I always read (on the first page of this post for example) that the botton out closed (max), I'll try to open it

thanks

I have a boxxer race with both upper crowns, so I will try the tall crown to get some range. maybe I can get around 13,7"
