My old dog Gus finally got back on the scoreboard today.
Back on Boxing day he was after a rabbit and blew his knee out, trashed his ACL and needed $5k of surgery to his back right knee.
Rabbit 1, Gus 0.

Last week he nailed a rat at work.
Today he got his form back and nailed a rabbit in the scrub at home!
Once I'd skinned & removed the head/digestive tract it wasn't very big, but enough to make Gus a very happy fella this dinner time.

But man I really need to find where in the shipping container my sharpening stones are!
Yeah and to go buy some more skinning/filleting knives as that was messy with my old Kukri (which needs a hella sharpen).

Later tonight the trailer should be redolent with his meat farts..... not looking forward to that part.
I may have to banish him to the workshop/shed.

Just a heads up, our vet told us that most dogs who blow out a knee also have the other one go too. Better set aside some money and mentally prepare yourself.

This is coming from the guy whose been carrying his 80 lbs dog up and down the stairs for the last week after her second knee surgery.
