I hate those. I don't turn on sports to hear someone's life story. If they want to introduce them with a quick commentary on their life, fine, but I don't care what their house looked like or if they practiced in a run down barn instead of a sports arena.
im looking forward to the snowboarding events. but im not looking forward to the announcers making snowboarders sound like a bunch of tools by using terminology like "gnarly air" and "radical backside 720 degree rotation to stalefish grab." too bad networks never actually let people who really know the sport be the announcers for it. only with the major sports are there actual announcers that are generally "in the know."
