So I do not go to many movies. The prices are BS and the movies are usually overhyped. Afterwards I usually I feel like I wasted my money and time watching them.

I can't even remember the last time I saw one in an actual theater.

However the wife wanted to go see something in a theater, so we headed out to the local megaplex on Monday night.

Saw "The Prestige"... holy sh*t I LOVED it!!!! Great character development and really strong acting. The story is great, and twist that I didn't see coming (and I usually do). If anyone is looking for a kick ass movie - I highly recommend it!!!!

Yeah man, great flick. I can't believe he died tho. Didn't see that coming at all!

just kiding. Thanks for the recommendation. Christian Bale certainly has come a long way into the spotlight from "Equilibrium" and "The Machinist"

I read the book and the movie looks so different from the commercials.

I know everyone says it but I really hate seeing a movie after reading a book. I can't help but sit there and pick out all the differences.

Are you kidding? from the Machinist? Was that a bad movie or something? bad acting? He was amazing in that film, besides what he did physically his performance was very believable. Equilibrium though...yeah. American Psyco, Empire of the sun, Batman, good stuff.
As for The Prestige, I figured it out about ten minutes in. Cool story though, the whole thing about Bales character turning Jackman's character onto bowies character was confusing. but everything else was pretty straight forward. I like Hugh's line about not knowing if it would be him in the tank or in the prestige every night. and that he was in the tank at the end was pretty funny.

Sounds like it is a lot different than the book...
