They're not getting rid of the rampage, it's just not going to be held in Virgin, Utah. It's pretty safe to say that the lines at Virgin have been built to the limit of human capability. Anouther year and the super huchers would need parachutes.
I hope next year we will see a formate similar to the Australian Red bull Ride event. More of a trail with all typse of riding stunts and disciplines. It's much more diverse and interesting IMO.
Anyway chlick this link then click episode search, under events select Red Bull Ride 03 and watch the vid.

The impression I got from the promoters here last year was that there wouldn't be another "Rampage" but there would be another event like it at the same time of year.
There is interest locally in putting on a grass roots event of the same sort at the same spot as part of a festival. More to come.....
Ok, the 2004 Redbull Rampage was the very last Rampage. there will be no other redbull rampages ever. there might be a similar event, it might or might not be in Utah again, but it will definatly be different from the rampage.
As for why its not happening, I'm not sure. The first year I think they only had to pay like $80 to rent the place out. then next year is was around $2000, and the year after that I think it was more along the lines of $6000. I don't know how much it was this last year. I'm guessing it just wasn't worth shelling out that much cash. Ya, it was a sick event and I'm glad I was able to go down there(partially because it was fun to watch, and I made $1200 off of 3 photo's). I wouldn't be suprised if they offered some sort of event here in the states with more manmade stuff, very similar to Ride. But who knows. RedBull definatly has alot of tricks up their sleeves...
