if some of you were following the kiddie punk thread, you might have seen that i took the challenge of burning some choice tunes for dh girlie this weekend. after searching and sorting out the towering stacks of cds i've got tumbling all over my floor and counters, and searching the 10,000 or so songs on my external hard drive i think i've hit upon a winning set of 3 silvery discs.

the mission is about complete. :dancing:

just got to throw together some tray inserts and covers and it will be set.

i had to select based on my limited knowledge of what might be acceptable for her (ie, kinda heavy on the hard rock vein, w/ some smattering of hip hop, blues, and other stuff), but here's a quick glance at some of the represented artistes:

arab strap
pink fairies
rollins band
bar-kays
thee mighty caesars
marc ribot
nick cave
stooges
mudhoney
neil young
kool keith
RJD2
swervedriver

and about 50 more...

this special offer is open to 5 more monkeys, if they send me an email (the.grundle@gEEmail.com) (ie, get rid of the double ees) telling me why they deserve to be bestowed by my initimitable music taste and unparalleled largesse. to allow for postage costs, i will take paypal donations of a couple bucks, if you want to.

note to DT and MMcG - yr cdrs are still in the production chute (punk rock and guided by voices, respectively).

I was thinkin...I BETTER see my name in that acceptance speech! :D

So...I think in order to seal the deal...narlus should require y'all who got the cd's to post your sob stories...mine was there for everyone to see...

binary's sob story said:
Have been working 60+ hour weeks, both days most weekends. This has severely limited my quest for (good) new tunes to add to my ever growing (and somewhat tasteful, I'd like to think) collection.

Rescue me from this pitiful situation that has left me with the same six CDs on rotation in my car. Save me from my sad circumstances that have stranded me with but two Pink Floyd CDs in my desk at work.

Help me, Obi Wan Kenobe, you are my only hope...
Looking forward to the new music. When I'm in here on weekends, I crank the speakers, and would like to have something other than the same few CDs that get played over and over again...

I basically said, I would like one and would reciprocate with some good local texas country. Not a sob story, but effective none the less. I haven't prepared an acceptance speech, but I would say the same as Douglas. His kicked ass.

My acceptance speech was concise and involved a paypal address and the clicking of a "submit" button ;)

I also am willing to share. I won't however take on your musical education. If you PM me your e-mail address I will send you two PDF files listing most of The Collection. Pick and choose, pay postage and declare that you owe me a beer and I will burn ya what ya want.

I have 40 gigs of different kinds of tunes. Mostly some sort of rock and/or roll...

Arrrgghh...

thank you echo. I see I'm not the only one with a sense of humor gained by watching bad fox shows in the early 90's.
Ohhhhhhhhh!!!! YOU BLEW IT DUDE....someone else called it...I KNEW there was NO sha nae nae on In Living Color...that show is far from a bad fox show...that show was hysterical...I have the first two seasons on DVD. Are you thinking of Miss Bonita Batrell? (I THINK her last name was Batrell or Patrell) the one that says I ain't one to gossip so you didn't hear it from me!!!

But yes...I did lose sight originally in my excitement that there might be another brady fan on this board.
