SEATTLE A mother and daughter are suspected of running a high-priced call-girl ring. But even more interesting is their little black book of clients.
The call girl service was called the Garden of Eden, based in the Seattle area and a mother and daughter have been arrested for running the operation.
Now police are seeking out hundreds of businessmen who were allegedly on the list of clients.
Police say the sophisticated prostitution ring was advertised on the Internet as an "escort service," providing independent companions in the Northwest region.
The call girl service was called the "Garden of Eden" and was based in the Seattle area.
The now-defunct Web site was called seattlegardenofeden.com.
On the site, you could make appointments, pick out the girl you were interested in, send them an e-mail and they would set up the date.
Last month, police arrested two women a 49-year-old Kirkland woman and her 31-year-old daughter in Arlington.
They are the alleged ringleaders. Police say they flew in prostitutes from New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Late last month, police served a search warrant at a condominium in Kirkland. Sources said that search turned up a little black book of clients that includes well-known local business executives, businessmen from out-of-state, and possibly local politicians.
"There is a list of several hundred names, both written and names that came off a computer that these people were using, so we got a pretty good list of clients, and again this is an illegal activity and there's always the possibility of criminal charges, said John Urquhart, King County Sheriffs Office.
The daughter said she has no criminal record and she is a stay-at-home mom with four children. She insisted that she and her mother are innocent and the victims of a smear campaign.
The mother and daughter suspects were arrested and then released while the investigation continues. They could face felony charges of prostitution and money laundering.
The clients also could face charges patronizing a prostitute is a misdemeanor.
Police said the operation worked out of upscale apartments and motels.
