This guy ran for President of France back in the 80's

He was a very popular comedian, very engaged in social issues. He founded a "meels on wheels" charity that is still very active today.

Apparently, he had reached up to 16% in the polls when he pulled out. The "establishement" worked pretty hard to censor, and marignalize him. Can't say I'm surprised, when this was his campain slogan:

roughly translates to: fuck'em right in the ass!
