I'm still in a pickle....I was going to buy the race from cycling.tv but they don't have the rights for the video stream. Is there a European website where I can get the live feed?

cyclingfans.tv (I think it's .tv anyway) has video feeds that sync up with English sound feeds.
Check that out.
And freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Contador looks strong! He is one of, or maybe the best climber in the world...if those guys can't take time back on the TT they are screwed.

From an interview with Lance on VS with Frankie Andreu. Frankie asked him about starting earlier than he has in the past.
And last said "well, Berto is the leader of the team for now, so it seemed like the right choice."
Yeah, he said "for now." It's on.

Cavendish is damn fast....I can't believe he rode Farrar off his wheel, amazing display of power

i think Farrar waited a bit too long to jump, that slight hesitation cost him his chance. he may not have beat Cavendish, but he would have made it a closer sprint finish. but considering it's his first TdF he probably won't make the same mistake twice

Looked like it was going to be a boring stage.

Armstrong has Popo go pull to put time on Leipheimer and Contador, great teamwork!

If I was AC I'd brake check Lance during the TTT tomorrow to get him dropped off the back.

I find myself incredibly shocked that Leipheimer missed out on an aggressive move :)

Contador is going to have to win this one by himself...

Lance pulled a fast one! Erased Contadors TT advantage completely. The man knows how to work tactics, that's for sure. I bet Contador is paranoid as sh!t right now.

I'm very curious to see how stage 7 goes... Contador is obviously at peak form right now judging by his ITT. I bet he attacks on that stage. Question is can Lance limit the damage and can Contador he hold peak form all the way to stage 15-18. I expect Lance, Cadel and Levi to be peaking late in the race.

This is going to be an awesome Tour!

Don't think that Armstrong doesn't have enough friends in the peleton that he can't form a little team of his own out there. You watch... it's only a matter of time before big George does some puling for Lance. You think Popo and Lance didn't know Columbia was going to step on it ahead of time? You know George was like... "heads up guys, we are about to stomp. Grab a wheel."

Lance = :)

Contador = :rant:

From what I saw I bet this is what happened.

Armstrong took a pull in the break then waved his teammates who were sitting on the back to come up and take a pull. They didn't do anything after that. I bet Johan put a stop to the shenanigans.

Lance could be in yellow after tomorrow, but he will need Alberto to do so. If Contador sees Lance as his main rival he should sandbag and save himself for the mountains. Lance will need a good TTT if he thinks he has a shot. I'd like to be a fly on the wall at the team dinner tonight.

No doubt... Alberto is not going to be in a good mood at dinner. I'd bet money he finds another team next year.

Clearly Contador will be on another team. Rumours have been flying that he was hoping Astana would dissolve and he would go to Casa De Porn or Garmin.

After the race Hincappie was doing a little smack talk about 'other' teams that wouldn't do any work. No doubt talking about Garmin who was most likely saving everyone for the TTT. I'm thinking there is a bit of an unfriendly rivalry forming between the two American teams.

Huh. Westy, I never saw your avatar wink before.

Anyway, should be a fun tour. If nothing else there will be lots of drama from the Astana camp. Hard to know how much of it is real and how much is calculated PR/BS. They need an Astana tour bus reality show.

He has one Spaniard on the team, so there will be two of em :) It was an awesome stage, and that was a brilliant move by Lance. I think Lance has a shot at winning because he knows how to race the Tour...his experience is pricelss

From Facebook -
Lance Armstrong - At dinner with the team. Despite what some might think, morale is sky high. We're psyched for tomorrow. Gotta love the TTT..

Were we watching the same stage? :D Popo and Zubeldia rotated thru for the last 30km before they pulled out with about 2km to go.

So was Cavendish...calling the rest of the peleton junior racers. :weee:

Cavendish had me rolling. Here's what he really said..."f*#k you snails...you race like children"

I thought Zubeldia was Lance with a team helmet on for a minute. He set stupid high tempo. When he and Popo took pulls the gaps grew. It was chicken sh*t for Lance to do it, IMO, but it was a smart move that put some numbers on the board. There was a little chat that involved Hincapie and no race radios, if I were betting.

Lance is gonna be in Yellow I think. Bumer kinda... yellow is like a target on your back. You cant sneak off the front wearing the leader's jersey especially when your Lance in the yellow.

(EDIT) Velo just dropped that it's Cancelara (sp) that still has the jersey. Nice :)

wow what a great stage!! LA almost pulled it off. at one point i expected Saxo to loose a couple of guys to a crash the way they were in the paceline, whoever #35 is he needs some paceline practice! i thought they would have finished worse than they did after watching them. great job by Garmin with 5 guys!! and wtf is Ben Stiller doing there!?!?!? and handing out the yellow jersey!! he looked like he didn't even want to be there and he left the presentation stage really fast!! is he promoting a new flick or something? didn't Astana use him as the reason they were late for yesterdays stage?

Taken from Armstrong's twitter page after the stage win today:

"And they might need to repair the pavement on the sections where Alberto was pulling. All in all, great day"

Can that be seen as anything other than another dig at Contador?
Ha, drama aside, I can't wait for the mountains to get lit up.

Could be taken either way. roads feel rougher the faster you go. Maybe the old man was struggling to hold on.
