It wasn't EPO though, it was only someone else's blood!

Kash was the EPO guy right? Or was he blood-doping too? Hmm.

Either way, honestly, I want Vino back. He wouldn't have stood for this bull****. I half expected him to be there anyway, attacking for the hell of it.

Undoubtedly there will be a mass exodus from Astana next year. Vino should rebuild with all of the Rock Racing Rejects and form a WWF style cycling team. Capes, Masks, yelling interviews and assaulting other riders with folding chairs.

He should hire a pilot to parachute him in with bike in full kit... right to the front of the peleton where he would land (rubber side down) and immediately cut his chute and attack.

Yeah, weird and boring this week. I like the idea of putting some really tough stuff toward the end of the race, but the impact is lessened if you create stages that let them sorta cruise through the earlier parts. If you're in the mountains, finish on top of the mountains. Next week would be a lot better if the contenders had to work a lot harder this week, and it certainly would have made for better racing to this point.

That would be awesome!! I was horribly disappointed that I stayed home to watch today...I should have known better and gone for a ride

No doubt he'd start his sprint about 20ft up, so when his rear tire hits he'd do a rad burnout creating a smokescreen for his attack. By the time it clears he'd be a good quarter-mile up the road.

No way, that's bush-league. Vino would either:
1. use a giant sniper rifle from his perch on a cliff about 2 miles away
or
2. He'd just wade in and use his hands to completely decimate the field. Picture a train crashing, just people getting piled on top of other people and bikes, Vino tearing off limbs and chainstays left and right.

great day in the tour , but i don't get why george is pissed @ astana and slip stream . can someone please explain ?

Garmin didn't help with any of the tempo until the end and then came to front to help AG2R. They really had nothing to gain accept keeping George out of the yellow...maybe George should talk to Cavendish about keeping his mouth shut.

As far as I'm concerned, Astana-Discovery-Postal did what they always do and went to the front in the middle of the stage to control the tempo and keep the break from getting too far away from them. They nailed it at about 8 minutes and then just stayed there until AG2R decided to try and reel it back in.

Well.....I don't think there is a question about who is leading Astana now. Very impressive attack. I was hoping Andy would close the gap so we could see more attacks (ala 2007 w/Rasmussen). Good race, we finally saw the GC guys race!

Boy, this is a weird TdF course. Usually they mix up the sections so there are a few climbing stages, then a few flat, then the finish.

They start the really hard climbing right after a rest day (which riders hate), and then it is a massive pressure cooker until Paris.

I was assuming that Armstrong would attack at some point and lose everyone...but maybe not :)
Dropped by Cadel Evans today, attacker tomorrow?

One thing about Lance is that he was always consistent. Considering his TT results and today I would guess he will lose more time to the best climbers and put time into everyone except AC, Evans and possibly Wiggins.

That was iffy. The finishing straight had a bend at about 50 meters and Thor was on the inside line. Cavendish pinched him, but I don't think it was intentional.
The race refs said that they had decided to call it basically as soon as it unfolded--even before Thor lodged a complaint for them to review.

Cavendish looked pretty tired...and right before the squeeze he clearly looked over his shoulder so he knew exactly where Thor was.

What I thought was funny was that instead of being dramatic and talking about how Armstrong was sucking, Paul and Phil kept talking about how good he looked at 37 :)

All Lance
All positive
All the time

Paul and Phil said he looked great. He got beat by Cadel Evans who cried after the stage and said it was his worst day ever.
