Wow that last sprint was something. Anyone else notice Renshaw shutting the door on the Garmin guys on the last turn? Looked like Garmin was trying to set up Farrar on the inside, but Renshaw saw it coming and cut him off. Fair play but it totally disrupted everyone else. Six stages is damn impresssive.

I enjoyed the race this year. Contador reminds me of Indurain in the way he went about his business. Lance may have been a little closer if he wasn't pretending to be a teammate. Still, I think he'll get spanked again next year, especially if Andy and Alberto continue to get better in the TT. Of course, it will be interesting to see what sort of team Alberto has to work with. It certainly won't be the same Astana.

The Schleck/Contador rivalry is setting up to be a good one for years to come. On that note, if Andy wants to win he will need to ride his own race and stop trying to help his brother.

Yeah, I watched that a few times to see what happened. Looked like whoever was in front of Renshaw in the Columbia train (Hincapie?) caused the Garmin guys to swing out a bit and lose a few feet. If they had been a bit further ahead and forced themselves in, Renshaw would have taken it wider. I can't tell if he was shutting the door on them intentionally (as his line looked fairly normal), but that last corner made a big difference. Cav and Renshaw got a lot of distance right out of the corner because they hit it at full speed. I guess that's why you want to be first in line.

Westy nice pic. When I was was watching this all I Noticed is that Lance just wanted to step off the podium and go do his own thing. Not sure if it was cuz of Lances' or AC's attitude.

Probably both. There is 0 love between the two. AC just gets to smile because he won.

^Quite a contrast from what versus was running quoting contador as having said he looked up to lance and his first book a good bit while dealing with his aneurysm.

Either way, I gotta feel for AC. Having that much talent, any team in the world would throw together a team for you. He gets paired with the only human on the planet who could overshadow him. I'm stoked he won this thing.

From Velo news.

Contador:
"My relationship with Lance is non-existent. Even if he is a great champion, I have never had admiration for him and I never will,"

Damn.
I found a "better" translation of his entire statement, from the original Spanish:

"My relationship with Armstrong is none-but independent from his personality, he's a great champion, has won 7 tours and done a great job in this one, but on a personal level(referring to his personality) I haven't had a great admiration towards his, and never will, but again-as a rider-he's a great champion."

Not quite the bile that VN reported, but still not great...

Should be a good '10 Tour anyway! :)

AC may have not been happy with LA coming back but he proved to be the better rider and LA worked for him whether LA or AC wants to admit it or not. and AC won't be his teammate next season and he'll just have to prove that he is the better cyclist. that's of course if AC is on a team that can support him. Vino's return to Astana will make AC's leaving all that much easier. AC won't want to be on Astana if Vino's coming back, especially since Vino thinks he's just going to assume his lead role again.

Shouldn't the drama have ended by now???
until the doping results get printed we'll just have to keep on this for a bit. otherwise we'll just have to think of what the new RS team will be. i think Cipo should come out of retirement, promise to race the Giro then drop out after 3 stages(which he doesn't even come close to winning). with LA leading the team, maybe we can figure out all the guys 35+ who could be with him.:weee::weee:

Probably a better/more accurate translation.
