I say unofficial cause I have yet to ride a century. My bro-in-law and I took off with the best of intentions and came to the conclusion that we wouldn't make it.

Maybe we'll take the marathoners' tack and not actually go the full distance till the day of...(MS ride in two weeks...105 the first day)

I gotta say though...85 (ish....) miles nearly killed me. I can barely freakin' walk right now...

The first century I rode was 15 years after I started riding. I went out and rode from Hartford to just south of Saratoga Springs, by myself. 145 miles.

I had never done the full distance before I did my first century. I think I did up to 65 miles? I just carbo loaded like crazy and I made it in a respectable time (I think) of 7 hours.


There is hope for you yet.

Yah...just mapped the ride from yesterday...89.5 (~1800-2000 ft of gain)...I think we clocked in at just over 6 hours.
