Thick tube for 2.0 tire?

Hello all,

Like the title states, I'm looking for a thicker tube ~1.5mm as opposed to the standard .9mm thickness. I normally ride a 2.2 in the rear, and alternate between a 2.0 for dirt and a 2.3 in the front for street riding.

I was looking at picking up a maxxis freeride tube (2.2-2.5 and 1.2mm thickness) for the 2.2 rear and 2.3 front. I was wondering what my options are for a 2.0, or if I could get by using the same maxxis freeride tube for that tire as well?

I seem to always pop tubes no matter what my air pressure or terrain and I want something that can last a bit longer.

Any suggestion?

Not where I'd like
Are you popping the tubes because of pinchflats or from punctures?

Slice a tube long ways and put between the tire and regular tube for increased puncture protection.

If you're pinching, then run higher pressure, work on finesse ;)

Of course, thorn resistant tubes are also an option, will help with both pinch and puncture.

As for your exact set up, the maxxis freeride will fit the 2.0 just fine.

The last 2 flats both appear to be punctures, one of them for sure while riding on the sidewalk with a pretty worn Kenda Kiniption. I'll take your advice and get the Maxxis Freeride for all three tires, as well as using a cut open tube as extra protection, especially on the street where the tire will see little bits of wire, staples, etc.

Then I'll work on finesse...I have a lot of work to do there.
