Being as it has been cold and I am lazy and do not have heated winter shop space, It has been a while since my bicycle has seen other than emergency maintenance.

It got up to the mid forties today and wasn't raining, so I washed the bike, replaced the rear shifter and cable, cleaned and lubed the chain and took off the studded wheelset. In the process I found that two of the chainring bolts were very loose, which may account for unexplained drops from the middle to small ring while riding.

Anyhow, the shifting's back to working well and the tires don't buzz on rock and pavement and there are flowers up in the back yard. Things are looking up.
