Their site is crap for me right now. Not worky. Ill post it when they give it up on the local forums. What is the geo going to be like? If it stays dh oriented for all travel options it could be a killer mini dh. The 140mm would destroy a course like sea otter. The 170mm w. dh angles would be a dream come true
I hate alu. Im still shocked we use cro-mo over brassYou mean outta hand like that aluminum "thing"?
Im 'afraid' it will brush it off like an alu frame can only dream of.I'm really surprised more people aren't afraid of what'll happen to their carbon DH bikes when they eat it in a rock garden. If it weren't for that I'd be all over some crabon.
I just thought i'd let you know that i got this.Blame it on Alex.
Let me know when you hit your aluminium frame with a hammer. Would love to see that. Seriously.BTW let me know when you post a vid of you hitting your V10C with a hammer. Would love to see that. Seriously.
I will buy a v10c and do it when you do the same to your alu frame. The carbonz hits rokz crakacraka, me sad thing is silly. What do you mean eat it? Crash on a sharp rock? Yeah because alu frames take it like no other...Why did I even bother posting?
Lesson learned.
BTW let me know when you post a vid of you hitting your V10C with a hammer. Would love to see that. Seriously.
Their alu one is already available and shares them. But the coolest part ot that frame is still the Chainstays...
The fallacy in this logic is that it presumes you can know everything about the extent of the damage just by looking at it. As many composites engineers will tell you, this is not so.I will buy a v10c and do it when you do the same to your alu frame.
Seriously I like how you go all brainiac on me and assume what I think. I was pointing out the same fallacy in your thinking you now want to point out in mine so stop being a hypocrite. The fallacy in this logic is that it presumes you can know everything about the extent of the damage just by looking at it. But hey, the consumers who can tell if a carbon frame is ok after bouncing off a rock are the same ones who can tell the quality and strength of an aluminum frame just by looking at the welds. If they look good, they certainly must be good!

do the use CF?Do they make Bulletproof vests with alu? nope.

Okay so Kevlar is an Aramid fiber...shut up.do the use CF?
wonder if would be beneficial at all to use a carbon/kevlar mix in a frameSimilar fibers, although aramid, so misstate, but it is used to contain blade ejection material in jet engines, high velocity high heat that would shear any bike in half.....
People can like what they want, just not talk out of their caboose nonsense based on 7th party conjecture from some guy they knew who broke a 5 year old carbon seatpost that weighed 89 grams.Guys we get it, some of you like carbon. Some of you like alu and some of you wouldn't be seen dead riding anything other than steel.
No one is forcing you to buy any of them so stop whining and be glad there's a choice of high end rigs to pick from.
I think the kevlar has a tendency to deform plastically in a way that doesnt recover enough, where the CF does but has a greater chance of shear and penetration.wonder if would be beneficial at all to use a carbon/kevlar mix in a frame
Cop out #2.Hahaha the bike industry's marketing machine is unmatched!
I apologize for my uninformed prejudices, and being a curmudgeon.
Carry on bros.
Speaking at length with an individual who has designed both the structures and manufacutring techniques for many different composite aerospace and industrial products over the last 30 years.Cop out #2.
No marketing, reality. Where does your info come from? Guessing? Aside from the technical data, and my own experience, as well as that of many others, I also saw steve peat nose out crash a 30mph 15' drop to flat at Windham - no shattered frame, sissy carbon cant take a crash no? Oh, just one crash - dont know what happened later -- so I could suppose the worse, or notice the obvious.
Carry on yourself.
When GT Furys and V10c's start breaking, Ill start thinking about it!I want a chromoly frame!!! That way I can hit it with a hammer while crashing in the rocks!!!!
Literally I do want a chromo bike.... 1 bike good geo 170mm travel and be done....
Nice looking bike BTW and carbon is pretty stout, theres always going to be arguments between the 2 look at the front of certain bikes cracking off and they are aluminum and still sell really well...
If Doc would get the SuperCo's out the door, I would be on that instead of this Carbon for sure.I want a chromoly frame!!! That way I can hit it with a hammer while crashing in the rocks!!!!

'Speaking at length with an individual...' - I have had this discussion with a breadth of qualified people, engineers (Including my own Pop, whom I trust more than your random individual) over the years, and NONE of them have ever had any doubt to applying CF/Thermoplastics to bicycle frames, on up to CF bladed turbines. Nonsense.
Latest and greatest, good for you - hop on your Trek 830 and friction shifters and get with disdaining progress some more.
Nonsense.
Yay antagonism. Cop out/Fail #4.
Haha one would think you'd be more happy with that V10C sitting in your garage. Go ride it or something.Yay antagonism. Cop out/Fail #4.
There's something to be said for consistency!
