I watched the whole thing. Aside from the fact that I don't believe that God has anything to do with anything, I don't find anything in there politically that I disagree with. In fact, it sounds a little like something Chalmers Johnson could have written.

I think I owe Wright an apology. And I should have known that if FOX was making a big deal out of it, it was made up bull**** anyways.

i fail to see the blowback from slavery. someone didn't come in and kick our ass b/c we held slaves. recall the battle to free slaves was within. the chickens never left the coop, if we can stick to a very awkward & vague metaphor. as far as indians, again, we could move the goalposts back to the time where they used all the violence at their disposal to expand their tribes, at the expense of other tribes (or non-tribal inhabitants). from this, paleface (comprised of the french & spaniards as well) were the chickens roosting

it doesn't bother me that obama went to this type of church as much as he doesn't care to throw his chosen pastor under the bus like he did his white grandmother, even though we all know it would be for political expediency. either obama seems to think his afro-centric church & it's influence on his life is either a private & personal matter, and therefore off limits in evaluating our next democrat nominee, or he's blind to the fact that many democrats in this country find this to be quite troubling when trying to square this with his promise to bring us all together.

to date i've never imagined i'd be voting for him if nominated, but that still doesn't mean i get pleasure from this topic. if nothing else, this makes the mccain campaign a little lazy.

As far as I knew, the post 9-11 comments were not about humanity as a whole, but gays and other purposeful "sinners". Now maybe gay bashing is cooler than being racist to conservatives, but to me it's all garbage.

That's all I was meaning about that.

I don't think Obama tossed his grandma under a bus by pointing out she had issues with blacks even though her grandson was half black. I think it was a good point to make based on the context of the subject matter.

He doesn't have time to think for himself, he has talk radio for that.

i actually did, and even looked up the context of psalm 132:9. funny, he never mentioned any of the jewish slaves taken to babylon.

and i have the one Dish plan that doesn't have foxnews.
and i'd rather listen to dennis prager than rush if i choose talk radio during the noon hour.

as far as this thread goes, there's more than just this one sermon & its reach we're "getting worked up about". my aperture was a bit wider than this segment, i'll admit. if this kerfuffle were exactly this 10-min segment, there would be precisely no media & voter interest
