this is whats funny in the industry (for anyone that had been following this saga)

This part was great:

On July 2, the court orders were announced from the copyright case. The punishment for Rich Energy was as follows:

- Rich Energy had to remove the offending logo from all products and merchandise from July 18
- All remaining products or merchandise containing the logo must be delivered to Whyte Bikes or destroyed by August 1
- Rich Energy to pay costs of £35,416 to Whyte Bikes within 14 days.
- Rich Energy has been ordered to disclose to Whyte Bikes the total UK and global sales to date of cans of Rich Energy featuring the logo, as well as the total sums received from these sales.

energy drink start-ups these days are soooo shady and dumb... on par with generic viagra marketers.

The fact that he named the company "Rich Energy" is so douchey it almost can't be believed.

Uncle Dave fearlessly and unwittingly paces back and forth across the line between what's right and what's wrong with the industry.

Megatower link in the making...!
Yup...not sure when it'll be ready though. I think I read somewhere it'll work with the stock 57.5 shock, but also 60 and 65mm stroke shocks (obviously you'll need stiffer springs and different tuning).

I don't know about the details, I just find cool that someone is pushing the design and indirectly showing that the lizard industry is spoon feeding us with incremental improvements

The one about earphones is so friggen true. On my commute, I can be fined if I don't have a bell on my bike - but ringing it does sweet FA because every 2nd person is completely oblivious to their surroundings
I had a jogger yell at me for not warning that I was passing her on my commute the other day. I had said "on your left", she just didn't hear me over her goddamn earbuds.

A coworker and I were joking(?) about hooking up an airhorn with a compressed air canister in a water bottle cage, a-la Airlines.

In my case, it's more the one about bringing back the dog poo in plastic bags. It drives me completely nuts to see the amount of dog poo wrapped in plastics bags we see in hiking spots around here. I mean, what kind of fucktard do you have to be to do something that?

I used to commute in NYC with one of those airhorns - refill every few weeks with a track pump. A bell does FA in that traffic.

had a similar thing happen the other day with another cyclist. We're on a path, coming up to an intersection. She slows down and veers right, so I move over to her left. I call out "on your left", but she starts to turn left towards the intersection. Two more times I called out "on your left". When she finally sees me, less than a foot from her shoulder, she's totally startled, and yells at me to use my bell. As she crosses the street I yelled out loud enough for everyone within a block to hear me that she should get her friggin ear buds out if she wants to hear anything. but I'm not sure she heard me.

My take away is that stupid people are stupid.

I have a 110db airhorn that fits in a water bottle cage. It’s an asshole machine.
Built for bikes, you fill it with a compressor.
You can also get very inexpensive "fog horns" for boating from west marine etc. Some of them are about the size of a roll of life savers candy and very loud. Easy to fit in a pocket. Not re-usable though, you probobly only get 15 or 20 blasts out of it.

I was asking a lady that was walking one day to pass, and got absolutely zero reaction for about 3 minutes. I thought she was a stone cold bitch, and ignoring me because she hated bikers. figured out after the fact she was deaf. I felt pretty bad launching off a rock a few feet on the side of her to make the pass and scaring the crap out of her. Oops.

This industry does not deserve a reach-around for doing anything right at all, just to be perfectly clear. This is like giving the class fuckup a cookie for not putting on his pants backwards one time while everyone else's progress is held back for him.

Ahahaha dude that is 100% what public education is all about. Pandering to the stupidest people per district for the last 20 years or so. Now kids are reading Harry Potter in High School. Hey, my 4th grader read that shit at a book a week..... also for $3600 this isn't too bad even with E13 hoops that won't hold up.
