Welded BB shell, please tell me that's an Intense!
Banshee Spitfire. The crank/BB actually spin very freely. I'm sure it was welded and then machined. Not the other way around.

Note- I guess what pissed me off about that crank is that The Industry decided to call it 73mm WIDE instead of calling it the 80mm, which it actually is. And again, why not 83 and be done with it?

So this is annoying, smashed my Time Speciale 10 pedal into a rock and bent one of the clipless rails (dunno wtf the part is called). Now I have to submit a warranty claim through Jensen because Time don't sell spare parts as far as I can tell. Granted it would be nice if I could get the spare parts / new pedal for free, but I assume there's going to be a back and forth for a few days/weeks to get the parts I need.
Forgot to update this. I reached out to SRAM directly and they sent me new pedals. Actually two sets, they sent me the small platform by mistake and instead of having me send them back in they just told me to keep them. So yeah, happy about that.

I'd like to see Sick Bikes make some more "Too Posh To Push" shirts but make them about E-pumps this time.

Hopefully some Temu clones will catch fire and people will learn that putting in a bit of effort isn't such a bad thing.
The something for nothing generation, assemble!

I think I've done this before, but, anyways......
Companies that are still running the same HT length on every frame size, 600mm stack and a 75mm riser, yes please!
Oh and saying they climb well because of a 77.5deg STA, the actual STA numbers would be nowhere near that, it would be the 440mm stays making it climb well.
Lazy jerks.

Magura droppers, fool me once, whatever.
First gen and third gen are both shit, first one rattled lile crazy because of poor tolerances.

Current one wouldnt return to full height after about a week of use, noticed weird little marks in a line up the stanchion bit.
There was flattened thread on the schraeder, little burrs on the edge of the pushrod so i assume something got trapped and marked the stanchion.

From the factory it came 20Psi over the max allowable pressure and it was still stupidly slow.

My AXS dropper is four or five years old, it's had one service but has been perfect the whole time.
Still have to do the 600hr service.

I think it's gone past gluttony and is way in to the fetish zone.

Somebody has to test all the weird stuff and not give biased reviews.

A frame built in a garage by a bearded hipster doesnt have 'soul' and bits arent magically better because they are expensive or uncommon.
I know I'm an idiot, and I'm perfectly fine with that.

You and sandwich should start the WeirdMonkey Youtube channel where you test all the weird bike stuff. Soon the chinese companies will flood you with products. :D

But everyone already said the Magura dropper was shit…some things you can just let go

Only because it was a bit slow, I'm okay with that.

The lever is better than the AXS, the Vyron doesn't have a motion sensor so you dont have to remove the battery if you travel with the bike in the car.

By the sounds of it quite a few people didnt get much over a year out of the AXS battery anyway, that makes me feel better about the magura using single use batteries.
I shold check the voltage on the Vyron's battery, it's over two years old now.

Industry in shambles?

Can’t pay off your loan?

Why not reinvent a standard that works pretty well, so that every MFG has to re-tool to use it?

I’m sure they‘re not going to release a new component that offers greater margins for them while excluding competitors. I swear, SRAM is the Tesla of the bike industry. If they can’t built it correctly, they change the standards so loose tolerances don’t matter anymore.

Shimano pushed Trek and Fox into that 15x110 nonsense, because 20mm axles were "too heavy". They also conspired with Trek to bring those direct mount calipers to the market.

I'm not defending SRAM, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying every single company tries to isolate the competitors without any major benefits for the consumers.

And ultimately Pivot and Shimano are responsible for BB92 AND Dub, since Sram basically bad no choice but to shelf the 30mm spindle.

Why couldn’t SRAM use 30mm?
Because with all the major mfgs soon after Pivot changing over to BB92, they would be like Race Face, putting shit-sized bearings in BB92 to continue the use of 30mm spindles. So if Sram wanted to keep any OEM market sales AND not have continuous catastrophic bearing failures, something needed to give. In this case, they downsized the spindle so they could cram reasonably decent bearings in there and make one-spindle size for all BBs. Its a shit situation, but I dont consider Sram totally responsible for Dub, they were left holding the shit-sandwich when all the major mfgs changed to BB92. And BB92 was originally designed for 24mm spindles. Only.

Luckily we are seeing a resurgence of BSA, but BB92 was really the worst of all common standards. There’s even a BB92 “fat” standard for no actual fucking good reason. Fuck Trek.
