Eh, why not? The Industry has been pushing bigger wheels on us for over a decade. I said for years that the time will come where some dumb ass in "TI" will say "Hey! I have a brilliant idea! It worked on mountain bikes, let's fuck up the road industry too!". Unfortunately, this is how The Industry™ comes up with a stupid idea, but refers to it as "ingenuity" or "engineering"...

UCI still requires road bikes to have matching wheel diameters. that rule was only changed for MTB.

That's why I hate road racing. I understand why they have minimum weights, so stuff doesn't too stupid unsafe, but the other rules they have are just dumb.

That's why you hate it?

although TBF I can see how service support cars laden with wheels in 4 different rim diameters, 4 axle standards, with 2 disc size and rim brake options and elderly mechanics flapping about trying to navigate a laptop to google the right one for the frame any time a rider punctures could be more entertaining than what actualy plays out on the road on most of the stages.

Ah, yes, I totally hate having more options on the market for how to cary water.

I mean, I'm not gonna buy that thing, and making it look all "tactical" is dumb, but let's not get mad at having more options for stuff. Obama's not going to take your normal bottle away.

To be fair, I didn’t find it, someone on mtbr did, and the profile seems slightly different, more angled on the inside on one, but that may just be the angle of the camera.
