Seems you might be a little more careful -

Fighter jet mistakenly fires upon New Jersey school

An Air National Guard fighter jet on a training mission mistakenly fired eight high-powered cannon rounds through the roof of Little Egg Harbor Intermediate School in Ocean County, N.J. The Newark Star-Ledger reports that at least six of the 2-inch-long projectiles landed in empty classrooms. Four custodians were working inside the one-story building when the rounds landed. None of the workers was injured. The pilot was preparing for target practice when the aircraft's cannon accidentally discharged.

I'm sure he was on vacation during most exercises so I am sure it was ok.

That happened pretty recently. I just heard about it today.

Printed the article out to share with the Lovers of the Garden State Club. We had a good little discussion about it.

The bobardier of my grandfather's WWII B-17 accidently dropped some practice bombs on a town hall in Mississippi during training. Luckily they were only practice bombs. Pretty much a big flash so that they could see where they landed. I think they were on a night training mission and and somebody left lights on, despite black-oput orders. Still did some damage, but nobody hurt. They did much better when they made it overseas!
