Another day in the office. My serious problem with buying plants for the garden has not improved. Yesterday I picked up a Normann fur that was left over from somebody's Christmas decorations and still had the roots so we shall see if it will survive the inside outside transition but I think chances look good with the extremely mild weather that is continuing.

Wheel stuff and the Canfield slated for delivery...but if I only had the time to build them. No rush, tho...not much shuttling to be done right now anyhow. Just gotta get it built and dialed in before the May move, really. Maybe I can get to Massanutten or something for lift service one time in the spring.

Morning Monkeys.

Still playing with Elk Stack, Docker, and kubernetes. Supposed to go in to talk about what I have learned and what I think. Phone screen at 11, but it's a heavy Python gig and that is not my forte. But who knows, I might still get an offer this week. Or not.

EXPECT LIFT DELAYS AND TERRAIN CLOSURES TODAY.
Some lift delays and terrain closures are likely today due to heavy snowfall.

Hmm, I got some yesterday (10") but it may be "too deep" by tomorrow:

hi all

waiting for my bars to make it out of customs. Must be all the cocaine packed into the ends

debating putting a low bid in on a mislabeled saddle. On the one hand, nice saddle for cheap, on the other- the seller is confused, so it could be a challenge if I get the wrong thing. Oh well, nobody cares

So as I was getting ready to bring my oldest to ski practice last night, my youngest decided to take a big swig from the thermos I had just poured boiling water into for tea. Screaming and vomiting ensued.

Off to the ER we went thinking there was nothing they could do. But he was gurgling a bit and his voice sounded weird. He was seen almost right away after seeing the triage nurse and admitted for the night with a intubation kit at the ready in case his neck swole shut.

ENT took a look and found there wasn't any damage to his airways, but the GI will have a look at how bad is esophagus is burnt. That requires an endoscope and full anaesthetic. So it'll be a second night at the hospital.

He's on morphine for the pain. (Though Netflix seems to be doing a pretty decent job at the moment)

He's a tough little bastard though, thank god for that.

woof. that sucks.

reminds me of the time when i was a kid, my mom told me not to touch the coil burner on the electric stove, "just because it's off and not red doesn't mean it's cool enough to touch". that was my first lesson in thermodynamics. and a painful one.

damn @slyfink - FUCKIN KIDS. amirite? our older dude stabbed himself in the back of the throat with a pen when he was swinging around with it in his mouth and fell. he was about 7. came upstairs screaming with blood gushing out of his mouth. luckily he missed the big artery back there, but it did swell up overnight to the point where he was screaming and i spent the next day with him in the ER and at the ENT specialist. Turned out fine in a few days. TL;DR - kids do stupid shit.

So I built some stuff that I had running local and tried to run it against my remote test box and saw an error. Being it was EOD, I left to return this morning. I see that my local copy is from 1/28 and remote is 2/03, so I installed 2/03 and same error.

Dev trying to say nothing changed but my automation says otherwise. I am currently trying to automate "hard to test" stuff and already found an issue.
