good? bad? mixed reviews? just wanted to know before i waste my upcoming christmas money on them.

pretty good performing, mud shedding abilities need to be worked on, and a little heavy, but overall pretty good.

Yyyyyup. I used these in a race, and they mudded up so bad I could not clip in. That aside, they are decent enough pedals.

I have been on 515's for 1.5 years and have had no problems with them and that includes one seriously muddy race with a muddy muddy muddy hike a bike.

They work. I've got 959s now, and to be honest, there isn't a huge difference.

One caveat, I don't ride in mud. For what they cost, the 515s work pretty well.

515 are fine and i think they are a good first clipless pedal i used them for most of my rcaing this year but i switched to Time ATAC pedals a few months ago and will never go back but times cost more.
