Srart by sucking the fluid out of the resevoir, then push the pads all the way in. With the pads being held fully retracted, fill the resi back up. The seal it up and squeeze the lever. It works on Hayes and other brakes. Too much fluid (easier to do then you'd think) keeps the pads from retracting all the way, limiting the lever throw.
