I did nothing even remotely bike related last night... and it doesn't look like there's much hope for tonight either.

Echo, Douglas - you boys ride last night? How'd the back hold up?

And everyone else... who rode yesterday, who's riding today?

Slacking at work
After loco-gringo posted about a road ride, I decided to do that last night. Rode for about an hour, managed to average 19.5 mph. I don't know if that's good or not, probably not :D

At one point, I caught up to another roadie, and passed him. I was pushing along at about 21 mph for a couple miles, then came to a stop light. Dude pulls right up next to me. Bastard was drafting me the whole time! He didn't even do any work! So I made sure I dropped him after the light turned green :D

Tonight is the weekly Trailblazers ride, time to give some  to the singlespeed :)

yup.......used the road bike - out the driveway & did some hill repeats by my old house - only thing I miss about that joint is there's a small lake down the block & it's about mile around the lake = many cuties walking/jogging :D

only did 17 miles total, and the back survived ok - hopefully will be 100% by Sat or Sun

I did a Night group ride last night. was great weather again. It was actually Busy in the woods last night .
we ran into two other groups. it is so cool cause you can see the people a long way away because of the Lights , and if one of the riders has a HID you can really see them a long way away.

being a good roadie is not always about riding as fast as you can , but riding smart. I love doingthat to peoplke , just grab there slip stream when they go by. ALso since most times you don't hear the person coming up . make sure you have a great jump on them when you pass so they can't get your draft.

Sounds cool - I'd love to start night riding, but I have no light at this point. I'm trying to get a few projects I've been working on on the side wrapped up... once I get paid for them I should have some extra cash. Just gotta decide between a hardtail frame that I don't really need or a workstand and a decent light.

No ride last night. Spent another evening at home entertaining my parents while they wait to close on their new house. :help:

Group ride tonight though. Start out in daylight and end in the dark. I've got a new light on order so I'll have to ride in the middle of the pack to get out alive! Also planning on a trip to the Kingdom Trails next weekend! Camping at Burke Mtn. and riding both day and night! All are welcome to come along if your free! PM me for details. :thumb:

Did the lunch time ride with Stuntmatty yesterday and will be doing it again today. After Matty went back to work I rode the American flag trail and played around some on the way back home. I saw some small stunt type stuff being built on the trail, so I may go play some more today after Matty heads back to work.

Rode the SS last night for about 12 miles or so. I was cached from the Tuesday road ride. We didn't even do 18.5 mph Echo so you did great. The wind is a little pesky on the road bike here. Probably will do a road ride tonight. I need to mow though, so it may be lights on the SS and to a little walking path with a big hill I can do repeats on. I think I am going to start trying to get out more for some training and watch what I eat. I am tired of being fat and the bike is a fun way to work on that. Saturday I plan to ride with Wumpus at 2 local trails and make a day of it. Likely a long road ride Sunday. BTW - riding your SS when every one else is on a geared bike can kick your ass. One other dude rode a SS and madbob rode his RM Flow with a JR T. That was slack and looked more tiring than my SS.

"It was a funny angle!"
I had a nice relaxing ride last night at Schaffer Farms in Germantown MD. I recently moved there and there are some nice trails 2 miles from my house. It is the first time in my life I can ride my bike to the trail head and not have to drive. It feels pretty cool.

The place has absolutely NO elevation but it is nice twisty single track with lots of downed trees made into obstacles. Last night I was taking pictures and a small deer walked right up to me and stood about 5 feet away. I took a picture and rode off......I couldn't get the image out of my head of that deer that gets on his hind legs and pumbles the hunter....so I left the little guy alone..

I rode Schaffer Farms while visiting a friend in Frederick. That place has more log crossings than any other place I have been to. There must be a particular muscle you use to lift your rear tire over a log. Mine was exhausted about 3/4 way through our ride and I could barely make it over saplings. :)

Had a nice ride last night at the Northwoods trails (Skidmore College). Not challenging, but fun. Tonight I am planning my first road ride (on my XC bike with semi-slicks on it). Gotta see if it's something I can enjoy...then maybe I can invest in a road bike. ;)

I thought about riding while I was in spin class yesterday. I'm going to Vermont next week to hang out with my brother. I know we are planning on riding just not sure where. He lives an hour south of Burke, so maybe I'll get lucky and get a day of riding in at the Kingdom!! :)

I'm hoping for a day at Kingdom and a long road ride somewhere in the backroads of VT. :thumb: My brother is also talking about doing Mt. Washington since there is a high pressure coming in so the weather would not be too bad.

I forgot to put in my first post that I finally got The Collective on DVD last night. WOOHOOO!!! New bike porn!! It was definitely a good flick, they did an awesome job filming it!!

Yeah - I saw that. We're flying back on Saturday morning though. :( I was trying to figure out how to hook up with Deyv & Isa too, but I couldn't get enough time off. Stupid work, it always gets in the way of having fun!!
