This.
After some bogus and gnalry diagnotics, doc was like, we gotta you open. Once split me open, things were way worse than expected. Now I am sitting at BCH healing. Alone.
I got my first "solid" food today and holy shit I never knew that half a tiny bowl of Rice Krispies could me sweat so much cuss and wince like this. Been tolerating pain for way too long so hopefully soon I will be pain free once I recover from this.

2020 sucks.
Sounds like a party.
Heal fast.

UPS says I have 8lbs I’d coffee beans out for delivery, today is going to be a good day

When I renovated the apartment in Brooklyn I never had a contractor finish their work and kept hiring the next guy to finish what the previous guy didn't finish etc. Several left tools and supplies they never came back to get. So bizarre.

Hard to show up and finish the job when you’re sitting in jail. Back in my construction management days we’d always schedule in a day or two buffer per month for crews getting arrested, murdered, so whacked out on meth they forgot where they worked etc. You can generally tell if it’ll happen by their tools, high end but obviously well used tools, means the guy will more than likely finish the job. Brand new cheapie tools? He’s going to jail

Great ride.
Ate epic shit at mach chicken when I clipped a pedal in a rock garden.
Good thing I forgot my knee pads as they might have gotten torn in the crash.
Running bike in low/long position and the rollover clearance is quite different than my old bike.
Bash guard and pedals will live a hard life.
Otherwise this thing rips and I'm pretty sure it's trying to kill me.

We had a guy disappear, eventually found out he got nabbed for kiddy porn. He wasn't coming back.

Contractor 2 showed back up again. We're scheduled for Saturday at 8am to finish the stone on the fireplace surround. I'll get the base tile on the hearth down tomorrow so it can be ready for us to work on the stone Saturday. He's also doing knockdown for the drywall patches, because knockdown is the bane of my existence.

I'm going to take over the painting of shelves for the built-in's, as it's in my pay grade and I don't want to get stuck waiting again. We've found a cat pee corner after pulling off old base boards. It's getting Killz3 coverage this weekend; hopefully it doesn't need drywall replacement. Getting everything finished on the main floor then we'll start on baseboards, ceiling painting, and bathroom painting upstairs. 4 doors left on main floor to paint. Also need to semi-blind route some Romex for the 2 new lights being installed in the family room. Avoiding cutting more drywall is my end goal, since we already paid to fix a hole in that spot (see shitty contractor 1).

Use something like Ben Moore Advance on the shelves or they’ll get scratched to shit.

A delivery from Colorado just arrived at my house. This thing traveled from Golden, to Vegas, over to LA and then to Canada. It took 19 days. I assume it was old school ground service.

Meanwhile my air shipment from LA has been "in transit" since May 8th. Le sigh. :shakefist:

I randomly checked the shipping for that yesterday and commented to my wife that it had taken the scenic route. Glad it reached you finally.

Time for mah weekly episode of dodge the mouth breather as I throw 26 pounds on my back for a few hours of the rocky up and down. Hopefully will be able to pull off another 3 day trip in Grayson Highlands before round two of the apocalypse shuts everything down again.

Should also report that I have been forced to abstain from consuming massive amounts of sugar for the past month. I’m borderline diabetic and started having indigestion. And recently have been experiencing drops in blood sugar that are quite concerning. The upside is that I’ve lost some weight. Not sure how much, but my house shorts are falling off me again. So there is that...

Just got to stay off Wilford Brimley’s mailing list.

We've been using Behr Premium Plus Enamel so far, so I'm sticking with it for color consistency. When I do the office shelves, which are more used (vs display), I might switch over.

Any suggestions on how best to smooth out wood grain on a desk/shelving surface? Wood filler and sanding I'm guessing?

I always use floor paint for shelves and cabinets.

It's been posted before:

Baseboards are the whole 1st and 2nd floors plus stairs up and to the basement. We're repainting all the trim and doors on the main floor and upstairs foyer. Took out part of the backsplash that was just randomly on the island. Turned the family room focus 90*, including the A/V and lighting. Replaced all the lights in the family room/kitchen to be the same low-profile LED and all chandelier light fixtures. Got rid of fan in office for regular light and put that fan into the family room. Painted all ceiling on main and 2nd floors, all of main floor walls, and 2 bathrooms upstairs. Built-in's, fireplace surround, and blacked out the fireplace (no more brass). Also put in a built-in bay window bench in our bedroom.

I'm pm you my addy so you can pull up the pre picture.

Riding the baggage carousel.
Went to plamer park for a ride. Got hit by a car driven by a little old lady in the crosswalk of Mainland and Academy, for those who know the intersection, coming home. First thing she says when she gets out of the car is "I didn't see you, I've got a bad eye". Cops, ambulance, road rash, probably fucked up bike, the whole works. Meat wagon crew didn't think I needed to go to the hospital, which is absolutely fine by me, but I am now on my way to the walk in clinic because I'm already starting to feel like shit and suspect I'll need something a little stronger than an OTC to take the edge off by tomorrow.

Sorry to hear Shane. Hope you feel better soon, the lady loses her driving privilege and you get $$$ for a new bike.

fuck. that. shit. sorry man.

made me remember when i was 13 and was skateboarding across an intersection and got hit by a hearse that had run a red light. i rolled up on the hood and bounced off and when the driver tried to apologize, etc., i was all like "hey, fuck you man!" i was going to the burger king across the street, and when i went in all the employees were laughing their asses off.
