4 more days until i'm supposed to lead a 20 mile ride on tight twisty techy singletrack. But i only have my big bike, the new bikey has not yet arrived (supposedly ships this week).

What should i do?

Can "lead" be interpreted as "handing out maps at the trail head"? :)

Rent or borrow a bike?

haha not a bad idea....

The twisted mess of varied trailheads and the twisty nature of the trail i could also wish them a heartfelt "good luck". There are sections of the trail that parallel right next to each other but are literally miles apart.

Put some 1.25" semi slicks on the big bike and you should be fine. The reduced rolling resistance should counteract the added weight.

bah, grow a pair and just hit the trail and pedal your heart out.

i rode 84miles up into the highlands on a bighit/monsterT's/3"tires, yes it hurt, no it wasnt easy, its an accomplishment that i'll always remember though, wind, rain, a bit of snow, sun, practicly every season in a day, my riding buddy, wanted to give up many times but i said no, we pushed on, that was one of my favourite rides i've ever done, anyway enough reminicing.

just jump on and ride, dont think about.

"Suck it up, princess" or some such.
BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA! :thumb:

I was actually on a ride with two peeps today, all of us more DHer than XCer but we were climbing a significant hill in the Front Range. We get to the top and started to descend, and one of my ridin' partners (a girl) starts to whine about how she's used to shuttling this trail on her V-10 and how the single crown Pike she's riding is all sketch and blah blah blah and I HAD to bust out:

"Suck it up, Princess!"

It ain't a ride unless you have a Stinky 9 with a monster t, a 44tooth up front, a road cluster out back, 24x3" Nokians at 7psi, and 45+miles of trail to get through, mainly uphill.

That being said do whatever you want it's your ride.

Stock Nomad in Medium weighs about 30lbs. I don't know many bullits that come to that weight.

Santa Cruz delivering on time...........good luck HAHAHAHA!

Put some lighter wheels and tires on the big bike and go for it. Of course I've been known to do xc rides on a 37 pound 7point when everyone else is on 18-20 hardtails.

I just meant bare frame weight. Thats the latest in mtbr rumors anyway.
i read that only once every 4 years i wouldn't know....:D

Yah i'm sure the frame will be lighter since i'll go air. The build will be different, plus the frame design is more conducive to pedaling. But this is all future trippin.

But so as not to confuse anyone, the bikey on it's way is not going to be a Nomad.......

I'd say pray for rain!:oink:

Those trails are tight and twisty, almost done best on a 3" travel or hard tail:nopity:

Skook, remember the last time EvilBob was out there on his Demo 8:dead:

Alright so what are you waiting on SC for then?
Blur XC because i want a light bike on one end of the sprectrum, as i'm anticipating getting a Nomad or a like 6 by 6 trail bike to be my main staple.

"Where the Hell is Morryjg?"

"I think I can see him way down there pushing the pig."

"Any idea how long it'll take him to get up here?"

"Naw - but if we start down *now* we might beat him back to the parking lot."

:D
