Can anyone post the rules, or direct me to where I can learn about which bolts should get locktite, grease, heavy tightening, moderate tightening, etc.
Also comments on tightening titanium and carbon parts would be great
most parts should come with torque specs.
personally i dont locktite much of anything on the bike...cept disc brake bolts (caliper mounting, and rotor mounting bolts)....and i also locktite brakeposts into the frame/fork. other than that i grease the **** out of everything and torque things to spec.
titanium requires a special grease, i use a copper base grease i believe, cant use regular grease otherwise itll seize
when using something like a carbon seat post, do not grease it, slide it into the frame dry. for clamping things like carbon bars, be careful, you can crack them. once again, torque to specs.
