bending stuff in the ROC
I've had TIME ATACs for less than a year. Left one is perfectly fine. Right one will barely spin, feels like the bearings are totally shot. How do I go about disassembling/replacing said bearing? It's not the Alium, I think it's the mid-level times. Gray plastic body, looks like I'd need a special pin spanner to take off the cap by the pedal spindle.

i was wondering the same thing as I just bought a second set of ATACs used. The bearings feel good, but inevitably pedal bearings get trashed and it's nice not to have to junk the pedals when only the bearings need to be replaced.

sounds like you need to clamp the spindle in a vise and tap the pedal body off the spindle. go here to see what stan's says about removing the spindle in order to install their ti spindle/spring kit.

hope that helps,
andrew.

A Park pin tool will remove the aluminum cap, I think it's the red handled one. Then if I remember correctly the spindle simply pulls out of the body. I can't remember if the bearings are pressed into the body and stay there or the bearings remain on the axle. Probably on the axle and if so it shouldn't be too hard to gently pry off any seals to clean and repack the bearings or replace altogether.
