Hi David, welcome to RM. Personally I've never seen the time shoes.

If you're into clips, the shimano DH shoes are good, flats is 510 all the way.

I only buy shoes I can try on first. Try before you buy.

I run them. I've been out only about 6 times on them though. The sole is stiff, and the shoe s well built. Much better than the 661 I destroyed causing me to need new shoes. They run a bit on the narrow side, so I had to go up a size from what I usually wear. I haven't run shimano shoes, but I tried them on in the shop, and the Time's are way more comfortable and look to be much better built and more durable. Honestly, for a DH purpose-designed shoe, I can't think of one that is better built. You should be happy with them. Remember though, these are a clipless shoe. If you want to run them with flats, I wouldn't suggest it as the sole is stiff and you wouldn't get great grip on the pedal. For flats. 5.10's can't be beat.

Philly, sort of
I picked up a pair of the new Vans recently and freaking love them. If you prefer a skate style shoe they beat anything else I have had clipped in.
