Is that intruding on your overall Lounge experience?
Actually it kinda does bother me. It's pretty bloody pitiful and pathetic. I would have hoped the mods were more grown up than that. It's turning into a mini 9/11 complete with the most sick-making forms of 'grief-lite' and shallow media-centric manufactured outpouring of 'emotional' bullsh1t.

I guess it's true that emotional impact is directly proportional to distance from the event.

For us here (SK6 included) this happened right up the road and we have many friends who have attended VT, and/or have children attending VT. We also ride with the VT cycling team. So it's pretty fvckin' real to us here. "grief-lite"?! "emotional Bullsh!t"?! Wrong on both counts

Yes the media response is pathetic as usual. I wish they would leave it alone but it sells anti-acid and tampons. But here on RM it's just us playing out our feelings same as we would if we hooked up for a ride. Excuse us for the buzz kill.

Respectfully,

Mike

I apologise if I offended those of you who are close to it. You are correct about impact vs. distance. Obviously I am at a considerable distance.

I am mostly pissed off by the general media reaction to it. I stand by my comments about that. On the same day 200 Iraqis died needlessly essentially because of American foreign policy, and no doubt many hundreds more died across the globe in equally tragic and preventable ways, 35 people die in America and they get 3 days of practically 24/7 media masturbation. It's sick and wrong on so many levels.

NBC has stockholders to think about. their numbers were through the roof 2 nights ago, which also made their advertisers happy.

if i didn't know any better, i'd say you think capitalism is somehow flawed.
