Ha, that is funny, as a joke.
But the truth is that Tinker grew up dirt poor.
So when he made some bank racing his bike,
he moved his mother in with him to take care of her.
(its so unlike me to damage a joke.)

I thought he had never moved out in the first place! I know she's one of his biggest supporters and does a lot for him including running his his pit and everything at races.
This is a little off topic, but has anyone seen "Joe Kid on a Stingray?" They had some old footage of Tinker killing the skatepark on his BMX bike...way back in the day!

No, but speaking of off topic, the coolest MTB event I ever watched on TV had to be those old Iron Horse Roostmaster Shootouts.
It was basically like a short track XC is today except the DH part was a single lane slalom course and the uphill was steep and tough.
Anyway, Tomac and Tinker always battled it out and used their handling skills to their advantage. It was awesome.
It was cool how Tinker went from BMX to XC racing.
I've riden with him a couple of times and he was a complete asshat. Had that I'm a pro and too good for you normal folks attitude. He is definitley not one of the better looking pros either.
