Does anyone here run this set up? I know the web site says it can't be done, but I think I recall seing people run v brakes on those hoops. Confirmation of this?

dont do it. you've got a painted surface to start with, and the sidewall material doesnt have the thickness for any kind of longevity if you're going to use it as a braking surface.
