Hey all,

Laugh at my noobness, I just picked up a Schwinn straight 8 and am in the process of getting it set up for my size and weight. I was riding it and noticed that the front tire is rubbing on the fork brace. The tires are 26x2.7 Maxxis mobster and the front is a Marzocchi Mr T.

Any ideas, and how do I set the clamp tension for mounting the front wheel?

Thanks
Jon

Its pretty snug, lik an eighth of an inch at best. The tire is not new.
I'll post a pic in a minute.

If you're completely anal about keeping your wheels straight and trued, you don't need much.

If you're not completely anal about it, you're going to wear a groove in your fork brace pretty fast.

I'd go with smaller tires to avoid problems, personally. Give yourself a little more mud clearance.

2.6" Gazzi Jr. is a great front tire ! Although it might be about the same size as the 2.7" Mobster ?
Prolly go with a 2.5" !

Ugh. Gazzy's have been surpassed by about every other manufacturer on the market. In their hayday, they were a pretty decent tire, but now, they aren't looking so hot. Get something with a decent rubber compound over a Gazzy, in a 2.5" size.
