Nevegals are all the rage right now, and I say rightly so. Ive had them on my last couple bikes almost continuously and they are great. Cant say how they compare to the mutanos, but you cant go wrong with the Nevegals, IMO.

I was whining last fall about how crappy my tires were and blaming them for my spazzing and sliding around. A buddy told me to get Nevegals and shut up. I did and I did; they were totally amazing. They're by far the best wet weather tire I've ever ridden and I can't think of any dry weather tires that compare to them either. Nevegals are the best tire ever made.

what conditions do you ride in? The nevegal might be overkill...

But, the nevegals are great tires. They stick to anything that's dry, and are no better or worse than other "good" tires in wet or muddy conditions. My only real complaint is that they don't have as much bite as other tires, which can be a problem if you ride on loose soil much, as they have a tendancy to wash out in the front.

Can't go wrong with the Nevegal as a rear tire, but I think there are better options for a front, depending on the conditions you ride. I'm currently riding a nevegal in the back and a Panaracer Cinder in the front; I'm pretty happy with that combo.

Just put a Nevegal on my DH bike and was impressed - good grip in muddy, sloppy conditions and it cleared very well.

What I wasn't impressed about is how the tire bead - it needs a lot more playing around to seat the bead correctly than the Maxxis tires I usually run.

Disclaimer: the team I'm now on is sponsored by Kenda, so take it for what's it's worth.

I'm currently running those as an all around trail tire. I find them to be kind of hard and not too grippy especially on wet rocky conditions. They also seem to loose grip in corners. That's compared to the Maxxis Mobsters I run as DH tires and the WTB Timberwolves I used as trail tires before I got the Trailbears. I'd almost rather run my krads. At least I know those are going to slip around all the time.

Does anybody else have any opinions of Trailbears? I'm just wondering if I am alone on this.

I might have to stop being a cheap ass and get the nevegals for my next set of tires. I too have heard great things about them. (From actual people I ride with, not the internet)

I've been running the trailbears for a couple of years as rear tires on my two trail bikes. They do all right. I hate them on the front -- using weirwolfs right now on the front.

Everybody around here swore by the bluegrooves, but I find them to slide out easily in the loose stuff and quit riding them.

Currently I am on my second set of Nevegals and have a love hate relationship with them. I love them because they stick to everything, rail on corners and never slip out on climbs. I hate them because they are slow pedaling and I always feel that I am working hard to get them up to speed. I just ordered a set of Kenda Small Block 2.3 which I hope have the grip of the Nevegal but with better rolling properties

I really want to try out those small blocks as well, but they might be the best for the sloppy conditions we get around here. Have you tried ther DTC Nevegals as opposed to the Stick-E's?

I've only run the Stick E with the Nevs. I run Karma DTC on my race bike which obviously roll much faster but are freakin scary in corners or on mud. The Small Blocks look promising but I am afraid they will get really packed with mud in the wet seasons due to the close knob pattern. Once I get them, Stanatize them, and try them out, i'll let you know.

Cool. And thanks. I ran Karma DTC's on my XC bike and loved them too. Stupid fast rolling!

I have heard good things about the nevegals, but haven't tried them myself. I am running Maxxis Harddrives on my jekyll now (primarily because I haven't changed them since I raced) that are just about bare and will be soon replaced with a set of Kenda Kinetics (StickEEEEZZZ).

I dont ride that often in muddy conditions and if i do I usually chalk it up to the mud rather than the tire. I havent had any problems with cornering with them.. but then again im 240 lbs... thats like having a sandbag or 5 in your trunk of the car

I'm running the mutanoraptor 2.4 up front with a Nevegal 2.1 in the rear. The Mutanoraptor is kinda weak on traction in cornering and will get dumped for a 2.35 Nevegal. The Nevegal's grip is solid and the cornering is great. They are pretty predictable tires. Only downside I've noticed is it gives up a little early on steep, loose pitches.

I like Kinetics a lot. I wish there were some 2.5s. I am running some Weirwolf LTs at home and like them. I am running Motoraptor 2.4s here in SoCal and really like them.

So I Stanatized and mounted my Kenda Small Block 2.35's this weekend. I gotta say they roll WAY faster than my Nevegals, corner great and seem to climb well also ( it's kinda hard to climb or corner anything with speed since there is probably 5 inches of leaves covering most sections of the trails). Once the trails get raked in a week or so I'll check back in......
