So I am nearing completion on building an 04 Foes FXR. I can't decide on a tire choice. I live in the mud 365 days a year. I was thinking of Kenda Nevegals, 2.5" front and a 2.35" rear. Or possible some Maxxis Minnons. Any suggestions?
go narrow and nobbly, that's the best way to do it. dig in.
This isn't in your given choices, but I have a set of michelin hot S tires that shed mug like whoa. I have no experience with the ones you mentioned. Hope this is of some help.
I'm running 2.5" Nevegals front and rear, with Maxxis strips and Stan's goo. Works great, except I had to dish the rear rim away from the chain to cut down on rubbing when in the granny gear. The chain still catches on the tire knobs if you go over rough terrain while in the granny, so always shift up to the middle ring if you're going to speed up.
Well I put a 2.5" nevegal on the front and a 2.35" on the rear. These tires rock! They hook up in the sloppy mud, the sticky mud, rocks and loose dirt, whatever I can dish out, these tires HOOK UP!
