I'm riding the transrockies challenge in august (canadian rockies). It's gonna be ~375mi over 8 days and I've never been to the canadian rockies before, so I want tire advice. Below is the short list of what I've been considering so far. Any wisdom out there would be appreciated...

My intuition says this one (maxxis ignitor): http://www.maxxis.com/products/bicycle/product_detail.asp?id=240

Barbaton says this one (Michelin XCR Extrem): http://two-wheels.michelin.com/2w/front/affich.jsp?codeRubrique=2092004115810&codePage=2092004115810_28022005182224&lang=EN

I used to have this tread pattern, which worked pretty well, but they say it’s a mud tire... (Michelin XCR Mud): http://two-wheels.michelin.com/2w/front/affich.jsp?codeRubrique=2092004115810&codePage=2092004115810_28022005182429&lang=EN

Then there's the others I thought were cool (in no particular order)...

I've heard really good things about the Maxxis Advantage, but I've never ridden them.
