What tires should I get for a hardtail which I will use for, in order of importance, mtnx/dirt jumping, a little skatepark riding, and occasional urban. I don't want Hookworms, because they're pretty heavy, and I doubt they have good traction on mtnx and bmx courses. I'm thinking about getting a High Roller semi-slick rear and either a Larsen TT or Bling Bling front. Is that a good combination? Any other suggestion?

What about the Arrow and the Kenda street/dirt type tires? Lighter than Hookworms, I think...

I've ridden K-Rad's, but I don't know that they would be very good for cornering on mtnx/bmx tracks or in looser dirt jumps, although they feel awesome on concrete.

How about a High Roller semi-slick in the back, and a Larsen TT in the front? Still fast-rolling, but decent cornering and loose-dirt traction. But my only concern with that combo is that the rear tire would robably corner much better than the front.

However, since K-Rad's are cheap, perhaps a pair of those and a pair of Larsen TT's?

I just came across a great deal on K-Rad's, so I'm gonna pick up a pair. Should I get 1.95" or 2.3"? I doubt I'll be using them much, if at all, on anything other than concrete or ultra-hardpacked dirt.

i would definately go for the 2.3 size. i think that the 1.95 would feel pretty twitchy and unstable.

i wouldn't feel too comfortable hitting street/dirt jumps with 1.95 tires. just not stable enough for me

Did you mean to say rear for one of them, or do you switch between them in the front? If so, what do you use for the rear?

Does the Bling Bling have good enough traction to use in the front? It must be an illusion, but the center tread looks really un-grippy.

I just checked out the Holy Rollers, and they look a lot like K-Rad's--they should be awesome.
