Hi,
I tried to e-mail TLD twice without answer and I need a fast reply.
I have hard times to contact my local TLD dealer so I'll ask this here.
I want to buy a used XL d2 but I need a medium, I heard that the outer shell of the d2 are all the same size and only the inner pads change the size of the helmet. is this true? if yes, can I get them at my LBS or anywhere on internet, also how much is it?
thanks
Vincent

Hey there. D2's have three different shell sizes, XS/S, M/L, and XL/XXL. You won't be able to convert the XL to a medium.

Also, it's a bad idea in general to buy used helmets. It's impossible to know if they have any life left underneath the shell. Figure I might as well be the first guy to say it.

ok. so is there anyone who can tell me if the big size affect the look of the helmet. Also, how is the fit of them, I have a L bell and it's not bad

The current L bell is too small for me. Not even close. The XL TLD D2 I own fits me perfectly. The front-to-back fit was spot on, but I did install one of the included shim pads that came with it on either side to make the fit perfect.

So the TLD will be a god bit larger than the Bell.

And don't buy a used helmet.
