Well, i'm sitting here with an unopened copy of Vista Ultimate in front of me.

I have a few questions for those who have installed it.

First, can I upgrade from XP and keep all my old files?
Second, have they patched it enough so its stable?
Third, do most of the XP existing drivers work, or am i going to have to schlepp to a bajillion sites to get updates?

and finally, is it worth it?

Back up your files and they'll certainly move over.
I haven't had any stability problems at all over the last few months.
Drivers will probably need to be upgraded.

If XP is running smoothly and you don't have to have it just cause, I'd leave XP. If it's time to reinstall anyway and your software will run on Vista there probably isn't any reason not to. I've been running Vista the last few months at work and haven't run into any problems. There are a few things I like, but not really anything I couldn't live without.

Of course. You could run a Commodore 64 for sandwich orders though. :busted:
You have obviously never experienced "Subshop 2000". It runs on the Micros POS at Subway and is a crime against humanity.

A C64 would be an improvement.
