not Camel Toe!!! ;)

I smacked my right big toe on a rock last weekend...I can still move it, but it was pretty darn sensitive all week - to the point that any tight shoe made it uncomfortable. Had to wear sandals.

well...since my toe didn't agree with my XC shoes, I went and rode some DS this morning. I slid out on this corner and barely hit my foot on the ground, but its like someone yanked me on the toe with a sledgehammer!!

Is it possible to have a broken toe and still be able to move it? I don’t feel like going to the Dr. since they can’t do anything about it even if it was broken.

So what does it matter?

You are just gonna have to wait for it to heal anyway :)

And yes, it is possible to have a broken toe and be able to move it....painfully

Yeah, it is. Have had a few of broken toes, you just need to be easy on them for a bit. Anyway, I find toes not to be so sensitive, maybe I'm just a caveman??

Heya.

Sounds like your toe is broken alright. Been trough the same thing a couple of months ago after an unpleasant meeting with a treestub (sp), and after about a week of pain i went to a doctor and was diagnosed with a brolen toe.

The best ting to do is just to get some pain relievers, and stay of the bike.
(i`ts hard not to ride, but it`s better than permanent damage)

So treat that toe nice for a month and a half, and things will be peachy :thumb:

it possibly could be broken on the tip but if it isnt black and blue u probably stumped it bad and it should be fine. U could just tape em together ur big and toe next to it with a cotton ball in between thats about it.

Dude, the Woo knows broken.

Upon examining my most recent x-rays, my doctor asks "just how many times have you broken something in this leg?" I made her guess. She still came up short.

You should see my right pinky toe, it sits so the toenail is perfectly on the side (vertical). I have busted up my big toes also pretty good on rocks many times, just give it time to heal. Out of curiosity were you wearing Intense shoes? Mine seem to have really soft toe boxes...

If you shoes are too small, you could just amputate the worthless offending toe. You would have plenty of room in there and it would never get broken again!

just a thought...

Givin' 'em up 'cause of the size? Or 'cause they're beat and can't be replaced?

I still think you should just cut it off...

both...they are like 3+ years old, so the sole is not way too soft, offers no support, etc...

I hope 5.10 brings em' back - if now I might go for some Oakley's or Vans.

I do suggest the DC "Alias". THey grip very well and look tits to boot!

DC Alias

Any of the DC's with that same sole will grip the same. You can tell the sole by the wrap up toe part in the front. I have had a pair for over a year now and ireally like them. If you look all over the web you can find many color combos not on the DC homepage I linked.

Not a big DC fan...I just wish 5.10 would come out with their Impact shoe again :(

I also liked the Rowley XLT's...but it seems like they have been replaced by a newer model, which doesn't seems as nice?

Sorry about the toe, but I don't think you can do anything about those anyway, unless it needs to be set.
As far as shoes, are you talking about the XL2s. Those shoes are the most comfortable shoes ever for kicking it, but I would not ride in them. They are way more flexy than the XLTs. The XL2s basically feel like you have no shoes on.

those are the ones. I have a pair of old beat up XLT's which I like, but when at saw the XL2's at my local Van's shop I was pretty disappointed.

Ya I think I’m just gonna have to give the toe a rest and try not to stub it again!!

I think if Luc goes to the Dr. they will either place his foot/leg in a walking cast, or one of those walking shoes. If its really discolored I'd go to the Dr. if not give it a few weeks and let it heal on its own.
