Black Dog Ale from the Spanish Peaks Brewing Co. vs. Summer Solstice Cerveza Crema from Anderson Valley Brewing Company.
Black Dog, from Bozeman Montana is brewed in the style of an English Amber Ale. Summer Solstice is from Booneville, Mendocino County, CA.
My impressions (mind you, after a 6er of each) is that the Black Dog was just too floral on the finish, while the Summer Solstice was nice and malty with a fairly quick spice ending. In other words, Summer Solstice wins.

For the record, I prefer ales over lagers mostly, malty over hoppy, chocolatey (creamy, vanilla-y) over floral (citrusy, fruity). I like my beers to start malty and end with a quick crisp hop flavor.
So yeah, that that into account when reading my, uh, description. Also take into account that I've had a lot of beer so far.
