Deadly beach traffic down in Santa Cruz. I had to run some errands down there earlier and drove back into Scotts Valley at around noon and there cars backed up for most of 17. My house is like a boiler right now. I think it's a couple degrees cooler outside.

I wish it were 75deg right now... oh wait, it IS 75deg right now. Lucky me :)
Sure rub it in. I've spent the last 6 months trying to convince my company to transfer me back to San Diego, and Friday they decided to give me more work to do out here

Maybe everyone should take off their blouses and put on damn t shirt...Bunch of freakin wimps.
...and where are you from?

I've been waking up at 5am just so I get riding by 6. At least then, by the time I'm done at 8 or so, it's only in the 90's.

I don't know how people live in places like Phoenix. Heat drains me of energy so quickly I would be a huge coach potato if I lived there. Anything above 70 is getting hot for me.

You get used to it and the winters are worth the wait.

I dunno how they did it back in the day riding a horse across the desert, hitting the bar with no AC or ice cubes...

Got stuck on shop calls on my day off this week. I didn't leave until 11 am for hill repeats. 40 miles with 2000 ft and I suspect it was 100 - 101 on the way home, into the wind. The 40 - 50% humidity makes it ultra retarded.

I'd like to come ride tomorrow, but have an out of town friend and we are going to Salado at 7 am.

You could come ride with me tomorrow evening. :thumb:

unless you are on 17 by 9:30 forget it. locals might get on at los gatos and off at bear creek and then take either bear creek or old Santa Cruz hwy to the summit go south and down San jose /Soquel rd:D
Thought about it, but I'd probably kill myself in the bread van.

If I am not getting confused, Bear Creek goes from like Boulder Creek to around Lexington doesn't it? Or at least you can get onto 17 from Bear Creek by Lexington, right?
Last year my buddy and I went snow searching after school and took Bear Creek to 35 [?]. We didn't find any but Jesus we were lost for a while on a sketchy two lane road going up through some mountains. The rain and bald tires didn't really help.

It has finally cooled down over at my house. Woo!

Rode motocross all day and it was STUPIDLY hot. I literally could only do two laps before I'd have to go find some shade. I think it was 110 up at the track when I finally left and around 90 by my house.

yup and if you turn left off Bear Creek at summit you go 3 miles to 17, cross 17 and go 3 more miles to San Jose Soquel

or just go to the lexington side of the bear creek over pass turn right and take that to the summit, turn left, then go right at San Jose Soquel

It's lovely going outside and sweating 38 litres before you even get in the car.

Nice Toons GFF.

I've got a Fishcat 4 I like a lot.

Pretty roomy for a float tube.

Here's some mods I did.

I see no ice chest, or an easy way to mix drinks on those things.
premixed 100l camel back out of the freezer plus an ice chest tray behind the battery box.

burley, I do alot of river drifting and lake trolling, used to rock the tubes like a mettalica t shirt but they didnt handle our pacific northwest rivers too well.

been able to float class 3 and minor class 4 rapids with the 10 footer. I have sonar, rod holders, 40 lb minnkotas, and everything else including minor duty downriggers for mackinaw and kokanee

The tube is fine for the small reservoirs and lazy rivers around here, but ultimately Id like to get something like your setup. Maybe a Scadden boat, and a small 4 horse outboard.
Mostly I do smallmouth and walleye or sauger fishing. The occasional tailwater for trout too.
